Iskander and Akis loved the idea and gave me the space to do whatever I wanted with it. Even though this was supposed to be a quick logo animation I took the opportunity to make it into a short cartoon, which I had been meaning to do for the longest time but had been slacking on. This first project was to kick off the internship and get used to the workflow of a professional studio. What’s good baby? -D My name is Roan and I’m a 2D art/animation intern at Phunk! I’m currently studying game art but my passion has always leaned more towards animation & cartoons, so when I was told an actual animation studio was interested in my work I was ecstatic! From the first conversation with the boys over at Phunk I recognized the same passion and love for art & animation that I was missing from other potential internships, I immediately knew this was the right place for me. I wasn’t the only intern, with me were two others who would also like to share what they’ve done and what the internship was like for them. Everyone’s really friendly and tries to help you out where they can, which is probably one of the most important things to have in an internship. It wasn’t only the fun project I got to work on which made my internship at PHUNK a good one though, it was mostly the chill atmosphere which made it fun for me. Overall it has been a really fun project to work on. With a lot of feedback I’ve been able to find a nice workflow in making concept art which I wouldn’t have been able to find without PHUNK. Being able to work on concept art truly made me change my entire way of working, I used to work towards my end product straight away and kind of forget about the whole process that comes before it. In my six months of internship I’ve mostly been working on concept art for a personal project of PHUNK. I wanted to capture the wackiness of PHUNK and implement their colour scheme, through a lot of different ideas and feedback rounds I ended up with the pink dog chewing gum. I was happy to see that PHUNK however, wasn’t only looking for animators but also for illustrators, so I took the shot and I’m glad I did!Īs a kick off project I had to make an animated intro for PHUNK, though this wasn’t really my forte I’ve managed to create something i’m proud of. As an illustration student it’s often hard to find an internship as most studios are looking for animators, which is something I had not done before. Otherwise stab him again and inspect the red stuff in the cave. ***If you're not interested in the quest, just feed him his own flesh and he'll die permanently. The wolf will still be alive and you'll have to kill him. **I went back into the well a second time and found a body with a nice sword on it and a key to open the door to get out.Ĩ) Go back to the levers and go north from there to a cave. Look around for a well and that will take you to the end of the Yennifer quest. Pick up some of his flesh but be careful using it. Kill him, don't worry about feeding him anything. When you wound him mortally he'll become interact able and you get a silly death scene AKA Assassin's Creed. I'll try to leave out the story, and only spoil the weird mechanics.ħ) After hearing about the wolf's curse, you'll fight him. Spoilers inc, but if you've read this far I guess you don't really care. (B) allows you to learn about the wolf's curse and finish the search for the dude. It lets you leave the garden but you don't really want to leave anyways. There is no way to have more than one open at a time. The other lever raises the door that corresponds to the peg. This peg corresponds to the 3 water gates. Basically there is this weird doo-hickey in the middle of the two. You'll get this explanation about these levers. (The one out of the water leads up rather close to the one you want) There is one just across the river and one out of the water. When you cross a small river on a bridge you are headed the right direction. Bit late to the conversation, but felt that I would help everyone out a bunch.įollow the guy's tracks around until you see a locked door that has claws on it.įollow the wolf tracks back the other direction. Surprisingly, shooting at car windows is actually worse in the remaster than it was in the original. The same is true in the remaster as well. Things are essentially unchanged- underwater grenade explosions in the original game were basically the same as any other grenade explosions with the same fire effects and no effect on the water whatsoever. Sadly, throwing a grenade into a water body yields much less satisfying results. The ripples are still a static animation, but the end result is still better. The effect in the remaster is much more pronounced, with the bubbled also being accompanied by ripple effects in the water. Shooting weapons into a water body in the original game saw slight bubbles being created in the water upon impact. This is one of the areas where the San Andreas remaster showcases improvements over the original. Take Claude, for example- the GTA 3 protagonist has a brief cameo appearance in the game, and in the remaster, his facial model is completely messed up, looking smushed and unnaturally plasticky in all the wrong ways. Some character models, for instance, look significantly worse in the new releases. While the new art style used in the GTA remasters is, for the most part, pretty well-implemented, it isn’t a universal success. Things are marginally better in San Andreas than in, say, the GTA 3 remaster, but they’re still really, really bad. The rain effects here look like a filter rather than actual rain, with a constant sheet of droplets constantly obstructing vision. When it rains in those games, especially during night time, visibility is reduced almost entirely. This is one of the most widely known issues with the new GTA remasters. Players have been ripping into its deficiencies since it launched, and we ran some tests on it ourselves to see how it stacks up against the original game when it comes to some of the smaller details. San Andreas – The Definitive Edition is, like the other two games it’s packaged with, a disappointing remaster. In an ideal world, the remaster for a game as universally beloved as GTA: San Andreas should have been a true labour of love- but as it turns out, we don’t live in an ideal world. |
